The Florence Copper Community Foundation recently awarded a $2,500 grant to Coolidge FFA to help students attend the 99th annual National FFA Convention and Expo, where they can explore career opportunities, build leadership skills, participate in competitions and connect with students from across the country.
Students attending the expo include one national qualifier for the Speak Ag competition and two recipients of the American FFA Degree, the highest honor the National FFA Organization bestows on its members.
“We are so grateful for the grant for this event,” said Tristen Gillespie, Agriculture Teacher and FFA Director at Coolidge High School. Florence Copper’s “investment in their attendance will give them lifelong lessons, memories and skills that will carry over in their own journey for personal growth, premier leadership and career success.”
Beyond the convention, Coolidge FFA members give back to their community through a Thanksgiving meal distribution, Angel Tree Christmas event, Pinal County Fair preparations and mentorship programs.
Through this grant, the Florence Copper Community Foundation is helping students build leadership skills, explore new opportunities and prepare for their future.
