The Florence Copper Community Foundation (“The Foundation”) recently awarded a $2,000 grant to Arizona Boys State to help support students from Pinal County attending one of Arizona’s most respected leadership and government education programs for high school juniors.
For nearly 90 years, Arizona Boys State has provided students with a hands-on civics experience centered around a “learning by doing” philosophy. During the week-long program, participants build and operate a fictional “51st state,” taking part in elections, legislative sessions, judicial proceedings, and leadership activities that give students a deeper understanding of government and civic responsibility.
Students campaign for leadership roles, draft legislation, manage mock budgets, and learn directly from elected officials, legal professionals, and community leaders who volunteer for their time throughout the program.
This grant will specifically support the Pinal County Delegate Program by helping cover tuition and attendance costs for local students, ensuring more young leaders can participate regardless of financial barriers.
By supporting Arizona Boys State, the Foundation is investing in the next generation of civic and community leaders across Pinal County.
