The Florence Copper Community Foundation awarded a $2,500 grant to the South Florence Volunteer Fire Department. This funding will assist the department and support their ongoing operations. In particular, the grant funds will be allocated to outfit a water truck that the department procured from the government of Pinal County.

With increasing fire activity in the region, the need for additional water capacity has grown. In the past, the department has responded to calls with just 3,500 gallons, making extra on-scene water essential for effective firefighting. By increasing available water on arrival and improving their ability to refill portable dump tanks, the new truck will enhance response times, boost fire suppression capabilities, and provide safer, more efficient operations during emergencies.

The South Florence Volunteer Fire Department serves our community with dedication and heart, and the Foundation is grateful to help strengthen the tools they rely on to protect our community.
