May 12, 2023—In March 2023, the Florence Copper Community Foundation provided a $2,500 grant to the Florence Food Bank.

Established in 1999, the Florence Food Bank operates out of the Florence Baptist Church to distribute food and other essentials to members of the local community in need. As the economy has suffered from rising inflation and interest rates, the food bank has seen increasing demand while simultaneously receiving fewer donations.

“Florence Copper is proud to provide this grant to the Florence Food Bank to help our neighbors in need,” said Sophie Dessart, Florence Copper Manager of Communications and Public Affairs and President of the Florence Copper Community Foundation. “Considering the current state of the economy, Florence Copper is committed to supporting the continued operations of the Florence Food Bank. We look forward to continuing to foster partnerships with organizations like this to give back to our local community.”
