January 19, 2023—On November 28, 2022, the Florence Copper Community Foundation (“Foundation”) awarded a $1,000 grant to the Florence Lions Club.
The Florence Lions Club has a rich history in Florence and was founded in 1929. The Foundation’s grant supports the continuation of many of the club’s signature programs, including the purchase of eye screenings and glasses for local youth, the collection of pill bottles for countries in need, and the organization of a monthly food bank.
This grant is the Florence Copper Community Foundation’s second grant award to the Florence Lions Club. The grant award also coincided with the induction of Florence Copper Process Control/IT Technician Dave Reeves to the Florence Lions Club.
“Florence Copper and the Florence Copper Community Foundation are proud to continue supporting the good work of the Florence Lions Club,” said Sophie Dessart, Florence Copper Manager of Communications and Public Affairs and Florence Lions Club Member. “We celebrate civic organizations that give back to the local community like the Lions, and we are proud to have members of our team join this wonderful club.”
