Florence Lions Club Receives Support from Florence Copper Community Foundation

Florence, AZ, July 15, 2022—The Florence Copper Community Foundation (“Foundation”) has awarded the Florence Lions Club a $1000 grant.

Foundation board members Dodi Freeman, Lorri Rodriguez, and Sophie Dessart presented the check to the Lions Club during a Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce networking event held on July 7, 2022.

The grant will support various Lions Club programs in Florence, including youth eye exams, a local food bank on the fourth Friday of each month, highway cleanups, and Christmas sponsorships of families in need, among others.

“We are very thankful for the support from Florence Copper and look forward to working with them and other volunteers in the future,” said Steve West, a representative of the Lions Club who was present to receive the check. “After many years of Lions activity in Florence, we are building the club back up to make Florence a great town to live in.”

Florence Copper is proud to support the Florence Lions Club and their efforts to make Florence an even better place to live. Community members who are interested in getting involved in the Florence Lions Club are encouraged to attend their meetings, which take place on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month at Jalapeno’s Restaurant (981 S Main St) from noon to 1 p.m. To sign up to receive more news from Florence Copper and the Florence Copper Community Foundation, fill out this form.
