December 2022—The Florence Copper Community Foundation (“Foundation”) recently provided a $1,000 grant to the Florence Knights of Columbus #5221 to support the purchase of Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for local families in need.
In early November, Foundation representatives visited a Florence Knights meeting to present the grant, which is especially needed this year. Recent inflation has led to rising food and fuel prices, increasing the costs of the food donation program and exacerbating food insecurity in the area.
The Foundation donation also coincided with Florence Copper’s annual holiday food drive. Florence Copper staff collected a truck load of food to donate to the Florence Baptist Church, which runs a food bank for local residents. Florence Copper is glad to support local families in need this holiday season.
