Florence Copper commenced Phase 1 operations in December of 2018. Phase 1, also known as the Production Test Facility (PTF), is a 1-2 year demonstration of the in-situ copper recovery process. Construction of the $25 million PTF began in September 2017, and 24 injection, recovery, monitoring, and observation wells were drilled and tested on site. Additionally, the Solvent Extraction and Electrowinning (SX/EW) plant where the copper cathodes will be produced and a water impoundment pond were completed.

Local Investment, Local Benefit
Florence Copper's investment has been a welcome increase in employment and economic benefit for the community of Florence and the State of Arizona.
Currently, there are over 50 people working on site, most living in Pinal County and neighboring counties. Shifts run 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, representing a payroll of $450,000 per month. These workers and their families directly contribute to the economic strength and well-being of the Town of Florence and Pinal County.
Florence Copper expect to begin the application process for commercial operations under a determination by EPA and ADEQ that the PTF is in full compliance with its regulatory permits.
